I could be doing laundry right now.  Or emptying the dishwasher.  Or cleaning out my closet.  Or completing one of a hundred chores that I find too cumbersome or time-consuming to do during the day with two kids who are easily bored.  But instead, I'm starting something new.

This blog is mostly for my husband's family.  My friends and family who live close to us are fortunate (unfortunate?) to experience firsthand the antics of my two rambunctious rugrats, but the Wests up north miss out on all the fun.  And although I've encouraged them to keep in touch via Facebook, I've yet to convince them to join the technological revolution that is social-networking.  Which left me one of two options - Skype or Blog.  We tried Skyping, but you can't quite get the full 3-D Dolby-Digital IMAX experience that is Jarrett and Finley in a 15 minute Skyping session, especially when they just want to show you every Happy Meal toy they've collected in the past year.  Which leaves us with Option B.

The main objective I have for this blog is to share everyday experiences - pictures, funny stories, and musings from this particular modern-day Mrs. Cleaver.  Maybe along the way, I'll stick in some recipes that the husband and I have tried a time or two.  But remember, I'm no Julia Child, just another suburban housewife trying to survive.
